How much does an airport taxi from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) cost?
Your fare depends on the pickup or drop-off location and the vehicle you choose. Every quote is fixed and all-inclusive — fuel, tolls, and the driver are covered — and we confirm the exact price by WhatsApp before you book, so there's nothing to calculate on arrival.
Is the price really fixed, or are there extra charges?
The price we quote is the price you pay. Fuel and expressway tolls are included, and there's no meter and no surge pricing. The only optional extra is a 4.9% fee if you choose to pay online via Webxpay instead of cash or bank transfer.
How will I find my driver at the airport?
Your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a personalised name board, free of charge, for every booking. We'll also send you the driver's name and number on WhatsApp before your flight lands.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight in real time, so if it's delayed your pickup time adjusts automatically — no need to contact us. We also include up to 60 minutes of free waiting time after landing to allow for immigration and baggage claim.
How early should I book my airport transfer?
We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance where possible, especially during peak season. That said, we do handle same-day and last-minute requests on WhatsApp when a driver is available.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer, and secure online payment. Full instructions are on our Payment Options page — note that a small fee applies for online card payments via Webxpay.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes — child seats are available on request, particularly with our SUV and Van options. Just mention it when you send your booking details so we can confirm it's fitted before pickup.
How long does it take from the airport to Colombo, Kandy, or Galle?
As a rough guide: Colombo city is around 45 minutes via the expressway, Kandy is around 3 hours, and Galle is around 2.5–3 hours depending on traffic. We build realistic timing into every quote.
Can I book a one-way transfer, or only round trips?
Both. Airport Pickup and Airport Drop can each be booked separately as one-way trips — you're not required to book a return with us. Many travellers do book both directions together for convenience, but it's entirely optional.
Is it safe to book an airport taxi online in Sri Lanka?
Yes. All Ceylon Taxi drivers are licensed and vetted, every trip is a private, single-booking vehicle — never shared — and you'll have your driver's details in advance via WhatsApp so you know exactly who to expect.
